Listen:
The $6 million facility holds a 90,000-square-foot field sports and multipurpose area covered by a massive air-filled dome.
It'll be used as a football practice field by the upcoming NFC championship team prior to the Indianapolis-hosted 2012 Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl Host Committee helped fund the project.
Pitts says the facility will provide a much needed boost for hundreds of student athletes on campus. Next summer, the turf installed by the NFL will be moved to Arsenal Technical High School.
UIndy will replace the turf with multi-purpose flooring that'll include a six-lane NCAA regulation track. The facility will host a variety of teams and events.
