Beyonce To Receive MJ Vanguard Award At MTV VMAs

(Inglewood, CA) -- The MTV Video Music Awards just added more glow to its star wattage with Beyonce now in the mix. Queen Bey will be honored at the August 24th ceremony with an award named for the late King of Pop. MTV has announced Beyonce as this year's recipient of its Michael Jackson Vanguard Award honoring her illustrious career as a show stopper. She joins Jackson himself, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears and Madonna as past recipients of the award. MTV is also promising an "epic" performance from the pop superstar who is also nominated for eight moonman trophies.

Usher, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5 and 5 Seconds Of Summer are also among those expected to perform during the awards presentation at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Beyonce's VMA appearance follows a headline-making year for the pop superstar who just completed the North American leg of her "On The Run" tour with hip-hop hubby Jay Z. The summer trek has reportedly earned more than 100-million dollars.
