Chris Brown Tweets On Suge Knight Nightclub Shooting

(West Hollywood, CA) -- Chris Brown is weighing in on the shooting that landed controversial record label figure Marion "Suge" Knight in the hospital early Sunday. Brown, who hosted the party at the West Hollywood nightclub where the shooting took place tweeted, "It's disappointing that we as a society can't have fun or enjoy ourselves without any altercations sometimes." While the singer had touted the event at the 1OAK Club as a pre-party for tonight's MTV Video Music Awards, MTV has been quick to distance itself from the event, saying the party was not affiliated with the network.

Reports say Knight and two other people were hit as multiple shots were fired. A witness told E! News, the "entire club hit the ground" and people were escorted out of the building with their hands up. Knight, the former CEO of Death Row Records, whose roster once included the late Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, among others, was reportedly treated for his injuries and is said to be stable condition. Brown's entourage reportedly covered him up quickly as shots rang out. He was later seen getting into a car and leaving the nightclub.
