FX Renews "Fargo" For A Second Season, "Louie" Takes The Fifth

(Undated) -- There are more true crime tales to tell in "Fargo" - "you betcha." The FX Network is giving the greenlight to a second season of the limited-run series based on the Coen brothers' 1996 big screen cult classic. At the Television Critics Association Press Tour on Monday, the network shared that a new storyline with a new cast of characters would unfold over the course of ten episodes. Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Colin Hanks and Allison Tolman shored up the cast for "Fargo's" first season, which recently picked up 18 Emmy nominations. FX CEO John Landgraf said in a statement that as "heartbreaking" as it is not to have the season one cast return, "Fargo" demands more "realism" than FX's "American Horror Story" series, which features some of the same actors taking on new roles in different storylines each season.

FX also announced the renewal of Louis C.K.'s Emmy-nominated "Louie" for a fifth season. The seven-episode season will begin rolling out in the spring of 2015.
