Joan Rivers: Dead Palestinan Remarks Taken Out Of Context

(Undated) -- Joan Rivers says she was taken out of context when she was quoted as saying that killed Palestinian civilians "deserve to be dead." Taking to Facebook late Thursday, the comedienne and E! "Fashion Police" host said she was disappointed that her words, caught on tape, were misconstrued. She said what she meant earlier, and still stands behind, is that "war is hell and unfortunately civilians are the victims of political conflict." Rivers blamed the media for focusing on the most inflammatory part of her remarks out of context, adding that she, like everyone else, is praying for peace.

Rivers' original remarks were caught on video posted on TMZ's website.
