Selena Gomez Criticized For "Pray For Gaza" Instagram Post

(Undated) -- Pop star Selena Gomez is catching flack from some of her Instagram followers after chiming in on the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian violence. On Friday, the singer posted a photo with the message, "It's About Humanity. Pray For Gaza." She also reminded her young fans to always "help, inspire and love," adding the hashtag "#WeAreTheNextGeneration." After Selena's post was bombarded with comments, she clarified her position on Saturday with a post saying that she is "not picking any sides" and is "praying for peace and humanity for all."

Selena is not the only star who has faced backlash for commenting on the crisis in recent days. Last week, fellow pop star Rihanna reportedly tweeted-and-deleted the hashtag "#FreePalestine," and NBA star Dwight Howard was also criticized for a similar post.
