Weird Al Fans Petition For Super Bowl Halftime Show

(Undated) -- Fans of Weird Al Yankovic are banding together in hopes of seeing the comedian take over the Super Bowl halftime show. A petition calling for the NFL to consider Weird Al for next year's game is taking off on Change.org. About 20-thousand people have pledged their online support for the idea. Petition creator, Ed Ball writes that Weird Al has been entertaining fans "young and old" with his parodies for decades. Ball argues that Al's theatrics would be a "hilarious and welcoming change" and that he could also be joined on stage by the artists he's covering.

Weird Al's latest album "Mandatory Fun" became his first ever to reach number one on Billboard album charts after its release last month.
