(Honolulu, HI) -- Hawaii is bracing for a direct hit from the first of two hurricanes. Hurricane Iselle is expected to hit Maui and the Big Island this afternoon. Forecasters say the storm surge could bring waves of ten to 20 feet. Most of the Big Island will get five to eight inches of rain but some areas could see at least a foot of rain. Meanwhile, Hurricane Julio, which could hit Hawaii this weekend, now has sustained winds near 100 miles an hour.
