Official: Foley Execution A Terror Attack Against America

(Martha's Vineyard, MA) -- The execution of James Foley amounts to more than just murder.
That's Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes, who spoke on the issue Friday from Martha's Vineyard, where the President is vacationing. Rhodes mentioned that Foley's brutal murder by ISIS is an affront and an attack against the country. Rhodes said the U.S. is doing everything it can to find and rescue American hostages. Rhodes said there is a small number of hostages held within Syria, but he refused to say exactly how many. Foley was captured by ISIS in 2012. The video of his execution was released earlier this week. ISIS sent an email to his parents saying that Foley's death was for the U.S. air strikes that have hurt ISIS' progress in Iraq.

Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes says no one in Washington is taking ISIS lightly. Rhodes says an alarming number of westerners have been heading off to fight with ISIS terrorists Rhodes says the Obama administration is ready to take action if it appears that ISIS is plotting against the U.S. Play Clip
