Tsunami Advisories In Effect In Japan After Undersea Quake

(Undated) -- Tsunami advisories are in effect along the east coast of northern Japan following a strong undersea earthquake. The magnitude 6.8 quake struck more than a hundred miles east of the city of Iwaki. The tsunami advisories were issued by a Japanese government agency, but the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center says it doesn't expect a tsunami to hit either Japan or Hawaii. A tsunami that hit Japan's Fukushima prefecture in 2011 killed several thousand people.
