U.S., China Military Meet Over Fighter Jet Intercept

(Undated) -- American and Chinese military officials are meeting at the Pentagon today over a Chinese fighter jet's intercept of a U.S. Navy patrol plane. U.S. officials say a Chinese fighter pilot flew dangerously close to the Navy plane in international airspace last week. The Pentagon says, at one point, the Chinese jet flew wingtip-to-wingtip about 30 feet from the patrol plane, then did a barrel roll over the top of it. The meetings will also touch on broader rules for the behavior of naval and air personnel when the two countries interact.
