TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — A freshman at Indiana State University was found dead inside his dorm room over the weekend.

ISU Police said 18-year-old Dylan McConkey’s body was found by his roommates at Cromwell Hall.

As of Monday morning, there’s no word on what could have caused McConkey’s death. Indiana State University Police are working with the Terre Haute Police Department and the Vigo County Coroner’s Office to find out what happened.

ISU President Dr. Deborah J. Curtis released a statement regarding McConkey’s death:

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to Dylan’s family. This is a terrible tragedy, and we offer our most fervent thoughts and prayers to his family.”

McConkey was originally from Peotone, Illinois.
