13-Year-old Boy Dies in Mishawaka Shooting

The shooting happened at an apartment complex.

MISHAWAKA, Ind.- A 13-year-old boy was shot and killed during an attempted home invasion at Hickory Village Apartments in Mishawak late Wednesday afternoon.

The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office.identified the teen as 13-year-old Tyshawn Taylor.

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. Tuesday at the complex in the 4300 block of North Hickory.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit found that Taylor died during an attempted home invasion of that apartment. 

It's not clear if Taylor played a role in the invasion. 

The investigation remains ongoing and no arrests have been made.
