Amber Alert Issued for Missing 1-Month-Old Boy
A statewide Amber Alert was issued Wednesday night for a missing one-month-old boy believed to be in "extreme danger."
IMPD says officers were called around 12:00 p.m. Wednesday to the 1400 block of Henry Street on the city's near southwest side. A 23-year-old man told officers he was robbed at gunpoint and his one-month-old son, Delano Wilson, was taken during the robbery.
Delano is a one-month-old black male, approximately 16 inches long and 12 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark blue colored baby onesie.
IMPD says Delano was likely abducted by an unknown white male, 25-30 years-old, 5'6"-5'9" tall with a medium build and short brown hair. He was wearing a black do-rag, red t-shirt, blue jean shorts and red, black and blue tennis shoes. He was accompanied by a hispanic female, 25-30 years-old with a thin build long brown hair. She was wearing a green shirt and matching green hoop earrings.
The victim said he was hit in the head with the handle of the gun during the robbery and briefly lost consciousness. When he regained consciousness, he saw his son being taken by the woman.
The suspects were last seen driving an older model blue, 2000-2003 four-door Ford Taurus.
"It's been truly emotional time since we got the phone call. We love the baby so much, just give the baby time to bond with his mom and dad because he's just a baby," the child's aunt Lou Johnson told RTV6.
On an unrelated note, IMPD said the father of the baby was arrested for an unrelated narcotics charge overnight. RTV6 learned through the Marion County Jail's website Willie Wilson, 23, is in jail on charges of possession of marijuana or hash.
Anyone with information on Delano Wilson or his abductors should contact the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department at 1-888-58-AMBER.
