Arrest Made in July 2017 Indianapolis Murder

The arrest happens after the investigation took nearly a year.

INDIANAPOLIS--It was July 9, 2017 when Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers discovered 53-year-old Jerry Eldridge was shot and killed.

After nearly a year, IMPD has made an arrest in that case.

They have taken 52-year-old Vicki Harper into custody and charged her with Eldridge's murder.

Police say the Indianapolis-Marion County Crime Lab along with the crime lab from the Indiana State Police Department had been processing evidence for over 9 months, which led to Harper's arrest.

Shortly after Eldridge was found shot, paramedics tried to help him, but he died.
