Arson Caused 2 Explosions and a Large Fire at the Former RCA Plant in Marion

6 firefighters have been hospitalized due to the incident.

MARION, Ind--Two explosions ignited a fire at the former RCA manufacturing plant in Marion Saturday night on Adams Street.  

Marion Fire Department Investigator Brian Eckstein is now saying that both fires began by way of arson.

The fires caused more than $250,000 in damages to the building. 

It began just after 6 pm at the complex, which continues for several blocks. The explosion came from two tanks containing unconfirmed substances. 

Six firefighters close to the explosion were sent to the hospital with minor injuries and are recovering.  

The fire was under control in a little under 2 hours. 

No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation continues.
