Ben Davis Football Player Shot In Drive-By On West Side

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- A Ben Davis High School football player was hit in a drive-by shooting Sunday night.

It happened shortly before midnight near the intersection of 34th Street and Heather Ridge Drive.

According to police, three people were inside a car when another vehicle drove past and passengers inside began shooting.

18-year-old Rondell Allen, a free-safety for Ben Davis' football team, was hit in the chest. Two other passengers inside the car, bother 16-year-olds, according to IMPD, were not injured.

Allen was preparing to start his senior year at Ben Davis High School.

He's in serious condition.
