City-County Councilor On Democrats' RebuildIndy 2 Plan
Indianapolis City County Council democrats are working on a RebuildIndy 2 plan similar to Mayor Greg Ballard's latest version.
That's according to Councilman Zach Adamson. Adamson says democrats are almost done with their own infrastructure upgrade plan which they hope to finalize and release next week. Adamson says he hasn't actually seen the Mayor's revamped plan, but believes it's a step in the right direction.
The Mayor revised RebuildIndy 2 following complaints from democrats that it was too costly for taxpayers. His new plan reduces bond estimates from $150 million to $105 million, cuts the repayment period from 30 year to 20 years, shrinks total improvements from $350 million to $300 million and directs the Department of Public Works to consult with council members and neighborhood groups in choosing localized projects. A group of council members will meet late Monday to finalize their RebuildIndy 2 plan.
