Daviess County Democratic Party Sees Reorganization

The Daviess County Democratic party has reorganized.

Former House Speaker John Gregg gave a pep talk to about 50 people who attended a reorganization session Monday.  State Democrat Chair John Zody and 8th District Democrat Chair Anthony Long conducted an election of officers where former State Representative Dave Crooks of Washington was named the new Daviess County Democrat Chair.

During 2012 and again this year there've been no democrats to challenge republicans on the November ballots and no democrat primary races.  Crooks says the community deserves more than non-contested races year after year.  He says he believes taxpapers are better served when residents compete to serve their community.

Monthly meetings will begin soon with a goal of getting democrats on the ballots in the 2015 municipal and 2016 county elections.
