Day Care Employee Arrested on Child Molestation Charges

IMPD arrested a man Friday for allegedly molesting a four-year-old at a day care center on the city's northwest side.

Police say the alleged molestation occurred at the day care facility located on the grounds of St. Vincent Hospital on West 86th Street.  Police were notified Friday by the victim's parents.

Ali Al-Awadi was arrested on a charge of child molestation and was taken to the IMPD Arrestee Processing Center.  Police say Al-Awadi is employed at the day care facility.

The investigation is ongoing but detectives believe this was an isolated incident.  The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will review the case and make a determination on formal charges.
