According to our news gathering partners at RTV-6, the officer was transporting a person in custody at the time of the crash. Dispatchers said the officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital to be checked out

After a brief search, the alleged hit-and-run driver was found hiding in bushes near Dorman and Michigan St. and taken into custody.
