Fishers Police: Man Threatens Officers With Gun, Turns Gun on Himself

It happened in the area of Colbarn Drive and Sunblest Boulevard at around 10:30 Monday morning.

FISHERS, Ind. -- A Fishers man is dead after he threatened police with a gun, then turned that gun on himself.

Two Fishers police officers were sent to check on an "emotional person in distress" in the area of Colbarn Drive and Sunblest Boulevard at around 10:30 a.m. 

The officers said they opened fired on the man after he threatened them with the gun. The man then turned the gun on himself. He died at the scene.

The Fishers Police Department says it has not been determined if one or both officers fired their weapons.

Police department spokesperon Shawn Wynn said both officers have been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
