Former Lebanon Boys & Girls Club Director Accused Of Stealing From Organization

Investigators say Pickens took approximately $37,000 to buy personal items including a vacuum, nail dryer, purses, a meat smoker, a dishwasher and cabinets for her kitchen and bathroom.

LEBANON, Ind. – A former Executive Director of the Lebanon Area Boys and Girls Club has been accused of stealing approximately $37,000 from the organization.

Leah Pickens was arrested after prosecutors say she used the money to buy as many as 65 personal items including a vacuum, nail dryer, purses, a meat smoker, a dishwasher and cabinets for her kitchen and bathroom.

Investigators say Pickens signed the name of Board Presidents on checks without their knowledge or permission.

Pickens was first hired as Executive Director in Feb. 2015 and resigned from her position last October. Detectives say all financial records on the Club’s computers were deleted when Pickens resigned.

Pickens has been formally charged with a total of 11 felonies, including four counts of theft and seven counts of counterfeiting.
