Four People Hit by Golf Cart at IMS

Golf carts are not allowed in the walkways, but Colonious Thomas of Noblesville managed to drive on one Sunday afternoon.

SPEEDWAY, Ind.--Even though golf carts aren't allowed in the walkways at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, a man drove one into one of the walkways and hit and dragged four people Sunday around 1 p.m., about two hours before the start of Sunday's Brickyard 400.

Speedway Police say forty-year-old Colonious Thomas was arrested for leaving the scene of a crash while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury and operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury.

The four people struck by Thomas' golf cart went to the hospital with serious but  non-life-threatening injuries.

Speedway Police are still investigating the incident.
