Greenfield-Central High School Placed on Brief Lockdown Due to Gun Incident
GREENFIELD, Ind. -- A handgun was seized and an adult and teenager detained at Greenfield-Central High School on Tuesday.
Greenfield police officers responded around noon to a person with gun in the area and put the school on lockdown.
Detectives say they determined that the incident involved a video on Snapchat of a 17-year-old on school property in a vehicle handling a handgun. The video shows the teen pointing that gun in the school's direction.
A different 17-year-old and an 18-year-old were brought to the police department for questioning.
Officers say charges may be filed against the 17-year-old and the 18-year-old. The other 17-year-old was released.
The lockdown was lifted in about 30 minutes. Principal Jason Cary said at no time were students in danger, according to an email that was sent to parents.
The investigation is ongoing.
