GREENFIELD, Ind. -- Greenfield Police are warning of a man who may have tried to kidnap a child.

A woman told officers that her young daughter was waiting to get on the school bus around 7:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Greenfield Village Apartments. That’s when she says a man in a burnt orange four-door passenger car stop and ask her to get inside.  Officers say the bus soon arrived and the girl was able to get on the bus.

The girl says the man was white, has a buzz haircut and wore a black shirt.

The Greenfield Police Department is asking that that anyone who has seen a vehicle matching that description in the area of Greenfield Village Apartments this morning to contact them at 317-477-4410.
