Greensburg Man Pleads Guilty To Killing Girlfriend After Failed Marriage Proposal

Investigators say Jason Eaton, 44, admitted to shooting and killing his girlfriend, Wendy Sabatini, 44, after she turned down his marriage proposal.

GREENSBURG, Ind. -- A man accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend has pleaded guilty to murder.

According to the Greensburg Daily News, Jason Eaton, 44, admitted to officers that he shot and killed his girlfriend, Wendy Sabatini, 44, after she turned down his marriage proposal at her home in Oct. 2016.

Investigators say Eaton grabbed a firearm and shot Sabatini in the back of the head.

Eaton entered a guilty plea Monday during an appearance in Decatur County Circuit Court.

Eaton’s next court appearance is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018.  He faces up to 65 years in prison.
