Greenwood Police Officer Hit While Directing Traffic At Center Grove High School

Investigators say Officer Scott Cottongim was hit by two cars along Stones Crossing Road. He is at Methodist Hospital and said to be conscious and talking.

GREENWOOD, Ind. -- A Greenwood Police officer is in the hospital after investigators say he was hit by a vehicle while directing traffic. 

Police say Officer Scott Cottongim was hit around 7:15 a.m. Thursday near Center Grove High School on Stones Crossing Road.

Greenwood Police Assistant Chief Matthew Fillenwarth tells 93 WIBC that Cottongim was hit by two cars and taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital.

Cottongim is in stable condition.  

 

The Center Grove Police Department is investigating with assistance from the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.
