Head-On Crash Claims Life of Lebanon Woman

Sheriff's deputies say Bethany Moore crossed the double-yellow line on a Hamilton Co. road and drove into the path of a pickup truck.

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. -- A head-on crash Wednesday morning in Hamilton County has claimed the life of a 23-year-old woman from Lebanon.

Sheriff's deputies say Bethany Moore crossed the double-yellow line on Strawtown Avenue around 7 a.m. and drove right into the path of a pickup truck driven by Joshua Prater of Anderson.

Moore, who was cut out of her car by firefighters, died at the scene. Prater was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing and police don't yet know why Moore crossed into oncoming traffic or if drugs or alcohol were involved. Blood samples were taken from both drivers; toxicology results should be back in a few weeks.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s office at 317-773-1282.
