Here's When the Downtown Whole Foods Will Open

Hint: It's Soon!

INDIANAPOLIS -- The wait is almost over.

Whole Foods says it will open its store at 320 E. Market Street on Wednesday, March 21 at 9 a.m.

The company broke ground on the 40,000 square-foot store in February 2015, but a series of construction setbacks -- including contaminated soil, high material costs, and feuding contractors -- delayed the store's grand opening.

The first 500 customers through the doors on opening day will receive a "mystery store gift card" worth between $5 and $50, and one lucky shopper will receive a gift card worth $500, says IndyStar.

Whole Foods doesn't have groceries quite yet, but it does have something else: 100 jobs.

The store is looking for customer service, produce service, and prepared food services workers, as well as prepared foods cooks. Benefits include a 20% discount on store purchases, flexible schedules, and health and dental benefits for full-time and part-time employees.
