Hoosiers Speak Out on Indy Crime

As the city remembers the life and sacrifice of IMPD Officer Perry Renn, Hoosiers are speaking out about crime in the city and what they think should be done about it.

WIBC spoke with residents while Renn's funeral was taking place at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.  Greenwood Resident Julene Kirke says she thinks more police officers are a good move, but isn't sure it will work.  Bloomington Resident Troy Maynard says it's a big issue that must be addressed "at the root level."  Maynard says "shorts cuts" are the easy choice when it comes to giving the appearance of addressing crime, but he adds short cuts won't work.

Indianapolis Resident Sunny Jones says many teens have no discipline and direction is life.  Jones says she believes parents and good parenting are the true answer.  Indianapolis Resident Matt Fuson says addressing the economy is also required.  Fuson says many people have no employment options and they're getting desperate.
