The eastbound lanes of Interstate 865 near I-65 south were shut down in Boone County early Saturday after a tractor-trailer crashed, flipping onto its side.

The crash happened about 4 a.m. when the driver of a semi was turning onto the ramp from southbound I-65. The semi was pulling double trailers and flipped on its side, spilling cargo and diesel fuel.

Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

While all lanes of I-865 were shut down, traffic remained open on I-65 southbound near the ramp.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
