IMPD Investigating Unknown Liquid Dropped Off at St. Vincent Hospital

IMPD is investigating after an unknown liquid was brought to St. Vincent Hospital on the city's northwest side Saturday afternoon.

The Indianapolis Fire Department was called to the hospital in the 2000 block of West 86th Street shortly before 4:00 after an unknown person entered the hospital with five one-gallon water jugs, placed them on the front desk and then left the hospital.  A security officer removed the jugs and placed them inside a hazardous materials shed located outside the hospital.

IFD's Hazardous Material Task Force was called to the scene and confirmed the containers were not releasing any gases, liquids or heat.  After additional testing by the Marion County Health Department and IMPD Explosive Ordinance Disposal team, the liquid inside the jugs was deemed not hazardous.

IMPD will continue to investigate the incident.
