IMPD: Man Arrested for Stealing IMPD Ranger Vehicle

Police say the incident happened Saturday morning.

INDIANAPOLIS--He stole an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) Park Ranger vehicle, but didn't have it very long.

34-year-old Benjamin Anderson was caught on video smashing out the driver side window of that Ranger just after 9 am Saturday and driving away in it.

The Ranger was later found not far from Mann's Grille in the 1100 block of Berwick Alley West. A Good Samaritan found the Ranger and police arrested Anderson. He was found a short distance away from the ranger.

The Ranger is back with IMPD. Anderson is facing burglary and marijuana possession charges.
