IMPD Officer on Administrative Duty After Failing Breath Test

An IMPD officer was placed on administrative duty Monday after being pulled off a shooting range.

Police say the officer was taking part in a training session at the IMPD range when another officer thought he noticed the odor of alcohol.  The officer in question submitted to a certified breath test which showed a blood alcohol level of 0.01.

An internal investigation is underway.  Department policy prohibits any trace of alcohol or illegal substance.
