IMPD Searching for Murder Suspect

Police say Demond Bender shot Philly Alexander and left him to die on a city street earlier this month.

INDIANAPOLIS -- IMPD is searching for the man the believe shot and killed another man on the city's east side earlier this month.

38-year-old Demond Bender is wanted for the October 12 murder of Philly Alexander.

IMPD officers were in the area of 10th and Rural Streets around 10:45 a.m. when they heard gunshots. A short time later, they found Alexander on the ground, bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds. 

Alexander was taken to Eskenazi, where he died.

IMPD asks anyone that sees Bender to call 911 right away.

Anyone with information about Alexander's murder is asked to call IMPD or Crime Stoppers. An anonymous tip can be submitted online here.
