Indiana State Fair Spotlighting Beer and Wine Makers

Indiana beer and wine makers are taking the state fair by storm this year.

They'll be part of the new Indiana Beer and Wine Exhibition in the Grand Hall on Main Street.  Indiana State Fair Spokesman Andy Klotz says this marks first time the state fair has offered alcohol for sale since 1946.  This follows a state law that was created to ban it due to a littering issue during the fair. Klotz says the new exhibition will only be open to adults 21 and over and those who sample and drink wine and craft beers must remain inside the venue.

The exhibition will be open every day of the fair which kicks off this Friday and runs through Aug 17th.  It'll also feature an exhibit from the Indiana State Museum’s American Spirits exhibition.  Some 45 organizations will be represented.
