An attorney for Jim Irsay has filed a motion asking for a delay in the trial of the Colts owner on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence.

That trial is on the calendar for August 28th in Hamilton County Superior Court.  There has  been no response yet from the court or the prosecutor.

The Indianapolis Colts' owner was arrested by Carmel Police March 16.  He faces two counts of driving while impaired on prescription drugs.  Police found several pill bottles and $29,000 in cash inside his car.

Irsay faces a maximum sentence of 60 days in jail, if convicted.  His license was suspended because he refused to submit to a blood test.

Irsay also faces likely disciplinary action by the NFL and  the Commissioner's office is not bound by the timing of the trial.
