IU Trustees Approve Room And Board Increase; New Degree Programs

Room and board rates will see a 2.3-percent increase in the 2018-2019 school year.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- You are going to have to pay more if your hild is a student at Indiana University. 

According to Inside Indiana Business, IU Trustees approved a 2.3-percent increase for residence hall room rates for the 2018-2019 academic school year. This means, depending on which residence hall your student lives in, you could see and increase of at least $160 a semester.

Overall tuition rates were not on the agenda of Friday's board meeting, where they also approved a slate of measures and projects. These include five new degree programs and project involving the Madam Walker Theatre in downtown Indianapolis.
