Jail Inmate collapses and dies

The death of a jail inmate in Johnson County is under investigation.

Emergency crews were called to the jail Sunday night after Thomas Wyss, 39 collapsed in a holding cell.

Officials said another inmate in the cell hit the panic button for help after Wyss collapsed. Franklin Fire Department along with Seals Medics arrived and attempted to resuscitate Wyss.

Wyss was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy is scheduled.
