A Knife at Carmel High School, Student Arrested

Police say there's no danger now.

CARMEL, Ind.--A high school student was arrested Thursday after he pulled a knife on a female student in the restroom at Carmel High School Thursday afternoon, said police. Principal Dr. Thomas Harmas, sent an email explaining what happened, to students and their parents.

Harmas said the girl was able to get the knife and yell for help. Carmel Police say he was taken into custody without incident. The boy was taken to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center where police say he's facing charges of intimidation, confinement, battery, criminal recklessness and possessing a knife on school property.

"There is no credible evidence to support this was more than an isolated incident and the victim and suspect had no prior connection," read a statement from Carmel Police.

"Additionally, there is no evidence to support the suspect intended any further, widespread violence on other students."
