Kokomo Fire Victims Identified

Authorities have identified 3 fire victims who died in two separate fires in Kokomo on Christmas weekend.

KOKOMO, Ind--Two children who were killed in a house fire in Kokomo Christmas Eve have been identified as 10 and 12-year-old sisters.

They are 12-year-old Alexis Ann Jones and 10-year-old Mercedes Faith Jones. A firefighter was also injured while fighting that blaze. He was taken to a local hospital and was released with minor injuries.

That fire occurred just after 3:30 am Christmas Eve morning on North Morrison Street. When firefighters got there, the home was already up in flames. 3 kids and 2 adults were able to escape the home.

In a separate Kokomo fire on Christmas Day, a 60-year-old man was killed.

He has been identified as Gary Shuck. An autopsy was done, but Shuck's cause of death has not been released.

That fire started at about 2 pm Monday in the 2400 block of Rouge Drive on the west side of Kokomo.

Both fires are still under investigation by the Kokomo Fire Department.
