Kokomo Toddler Dies After Suffocating Inside An SUV

Investigators say Khloe Villarreal's mother hit a button to automatically fold a seat, which trapped and suffocated the girl inside the vehicle.

SWAYZEE, Ind. -- A one-year-old girl from Kokomo is dead after her parents folded the back seat of their SUV without realizing she was underneath it.

According to the Marion Chronical-Tribune, Khloe Villarreal died Sunday in the small town of Swayzee in Grant County, as her parents were helping a relative move.

Investigators say Villarreal's parents left the girl sleeping in the back of their SUV, when the mother hit a button to automatically move the seat.  The woman did not know that her daughter was in the seat when it happened and the girl was when the girl was trapped in the seat and suffocated.

The Grant County Prosecutor's office will decide if any charges will be filed in the girl's death.
