Lawrence PD: Still Searching For Person Who Shot at Officer

The shots were fired after a traffic stop Friday morning near the intersection of 42nd & Post.

LAWRENCE, Ind. -- Lawrence Police continue to search for the person who shot at one of their officers after a Friday morning traffic stop.

The shooting happened near the intersection of 42nd Street and Post Road at around 10 a.m.

An officer was conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle when it pulled into the Maison Gardens Apartment complex, Lawrence PD spokesperson Gary Woodruff told RTV6.

Three people fled the vehicle, with one of them firing at the officer, Woodruff said.

No one was hurt and all officers are okay.

Woodruff says the trio of suspects jumped a fence and have not been located.

RTV6 says police are reviewing footage from the officer's body camera to get a description of the suspects.
