Little Girl and Mom Both Hit By a Car

The mother tried to catch the little girl and both ended up getting hit.

INDIANAPOLIS--A two-year-old girl and her mom were both hit by a car Saturday afternoon on the northeast side of Indianapolis. Police said the little girl is critical at Riley Hospital. 

The child ran out into the street and the mom tried to catch her and both ended up getting hit, said police.
It happened just before 5, near 8200 East 34th St., which is just south of Lawrence and just outside the 465 loop.
The mother also went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the person who was driving the car is cooperating.
