Man and Woman Found Dead in Southeast Side Apartment

Police are investigating after a man and a woman were found dead in a garage apartment Friday afternoon on the city's southwest side.

Officers were called around 1:30 p.m. to the 700 block of South Bancroft Street on a report that two people were dead.  Police say the woman did not have any visible trauma but the man did.  

Investigators do not believe foul play is suspected but the cause of death remains unknown until an autopsy is complete.

A pet fox was found at the scene and was taken by Indianapolis Animal Care and Control.  Officials tell RTV6 it's possible the fox may have begun to gnaw on the remains of one of the victims but IMPD Officer Rafael Diaz says investigators won't know what the fox's role in this incident was until the autopsy is complete.
