Manhunt Underway for Brownsburg Double Shooting Suspect, May Have Three Young Children With Him

Police say Christhian Garcia, 25, lived with one of the victims. He is on the run and police believe he may have his children with him.

BROWNSBURG, Ind. – Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a double shooting at a Brownsburg distribution center Tuesday evening.

The shooting happened in the parking lot at HomeGoods Distribution Center on Northfield Drive.

Brownsburg Police Department PIO Jennifer Barrett said a man and a woman, identified as Alicia Canise Canizales, 22, and Jesus Huesca, 26, were shot on their way into their 10:30 p.m. shift at the distribution center by a male suspect. The victims were taken to the hospital in serious condition.

Police identified the suspect as Christhian Garcia, 25, who they say lives with and has children with Canizales.

After interviewing witnesses, police surrounded a home around 2 a.m. near Bertha Street and Warman Avenue where they believed Garcia was hiding with at least three children under the age of ten.

After a standoff that lasted over three hours, police used two flash bangs to enter the home but found no sign of Garcia or the children.

Police say they have not issued an Amber Alert because they do not have names for the children involved.

The distribution center was not placed on lockdown and employees were asked to stay inside while police spoke with more witnesses, Barrett said. At least one victim was an employee of the distribution center, police said.
