Meijer Recalling Fresh Veggies Over Listeria Concerns

The pre-packaged vegetables were sold between Sept. 27 and Oct. 20.

STATEWIDE -- If you shop at Meijer, you might want to check your fridge for some recalled produce.

The company says some of its pre-pacakged fresh vegetables--including zucchini, squash, and asparagus--could be contaminated by listeria.

The veggies were sold between Sept. 27 and Oct. 20 and were packaged in plastic containers or on foam trays with printed labels.

Meijer says they have received no complaints of illness so far and that the issue was with a supplier.

Listeria can cause serious or fatal infections in children, people with compromised immune systems, and the elderly. In healthy people, listeria presents flu-like symptoms.

If you have purchased any of the recalled food items, return them to Meijer for a full refund.
