Michigan City Girl Recovering After Dog Attack

12-year-old Winter Morgan was viciously attacked Friday by a 140-pound bull mastiff.

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- A Michigan City girl is recovering after being attacked by a 140-pound bull mastiff on Friday.

Police say 12-year-old Winter Morgan has bites all over her body, except for her face and one leg.

She's undergone three surgeries so far and is expected to have a fourth this week.

WSBT-TV in South Bend says Morgan was attacked at Dunewood Trailer Park. She managed to get away from the dog and ran into a trailer, but the dog followed her and continued to attack her until it was locked in a room by a police officer.

The bull mastiff is in quarantine and could be euthanized.

A criminal investigation is ongoing.
