Monroe Hospital in Bloomington Files for Bankruptcy

Bloomington-based Monroe Hospital LLC has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Spokesman Joe Roche says this follows a long period of financial troubles for the facility that employs about 300 people.

Roche says the facility is currently managed by Prime Healthcare of Ontario, California.  He says it's likely the California-based operator will acquire the facility.

Roche says the reorganization will not impact workers nor the 20-thousand patients that the facility serves each year.
